How to
Apply
The New Zealand College of
Chiropractic teaches a four year bachelor of chiropractic degree and requires a
one year university programme in basic science for entry. Applicants may be
accepted into the chiropractic programme if they have completed the science
pre-requisite requirements and have passed an interview. For foreign
students, the interview may be taken by telephone. All students are expected to
have performed to a high academic level. Interpersonal skills are considered
highly important and an understanding of chiropractic is preferable.
Pre-requisites
include basic science study at university and include 120 credits (or
equivalent from your local university) as follows:
- Anatomy and Physiology 30 credits
- Chemistry (General or Organic) 15 credits
- Biological Chemistry 15 credits
- Microbiology 15 credits
- Biophysics 15 credits
- Unspecified 30 credits
If you have not already completed a
first year university science programme, a one year specialist pre-chiropractic
diploma is available from the Auckland University of Technology.
Good English language skills are
essential. Students for whom English is a second language must
provide documentation of their English language proficiency. Our
preferred English language test is IELTS academic module. Applicants must
achieve an overall band score of 6.5 with no individual band less than 6.0.
